Early-age properties of alkali-activated slag and glass wool paste

Abstract In this study, glass wool waste was utilized by means of alkali-activation with blast furnace slag. Reaction kinetics, workability, mechanical properties and autogenous shrinkage alkali-activated slag were comprehensively studied. Results indicated an optimal modulus (SiO2/Na2O) the activator related to a long enough setting time high reaction degree paste. The incorporation as partial replacement did not necessarily lead degradation in performance pastes. While compressive strength always lower when incorporated mixture, flexural workability could be improved proper dosages. Autogenous blended pastes compared mixture without wool. results paper suggest that can used precursor slag-based system, resulting improvements early-age paste such prolonged reduced shrinkage.
